Getting started

After you register, Pimbo will guide you through connecting your Shopify store. You'll authorise Pimbo via Shopify's standard OAuth flow β€” the same process you use when installing any Shopify app. Your products will start importing automatically once the connection is live.

Most merchants are up and running within five minutes. Register, connect your Shopify store, and your products start importing straight away. How long the import takes depends on the size of your catalogue, but you can start working while it runs.

Yes. You can import products via CSV (Comma-Separated Values β€” a simple spreadsheet-like file format) as well as directly from your Shopify store. This is handy if you have product data in spreadsheets that hasn't made it into Shopify yet.

Products and data

A completeness score is a percentage showing how much of a product's required information has been filled in. You define what "complete" means for your catalogue β€” which fields are required, which are optional β€” and Pimbo calculates a score for each product. It's a quick way to spot which products need attention before you sync them to your store.

Yes. Metafields are custom data fields in Shopify that store additional product information beyond the standard title, description, and price. Pimbo imports your existing metafield definitions and lets you manage them alongside all your other product data. You can also create new metafields directly in Pimbo.

Yes. Select the products you want to change, make your edits, and apply them all at once. Bulk editing is available on all plans and works across titles, descriptions, prices, fields, and more.

Syncing with Shopify

When you're happy with your product data, you sync it to your Shopify store. Pimbo sends the updated information directly via Shopify's API (Application Programming Interface β€” a way for software systems to talk to each other). Changes appear in your store within seconds. You control when syncs happen β€” nothing is pushed automatically unless you tell it to.

Pimbo only syncs the fields you manage in Pimbo. If you've made changes directly in Shopify to fields that Pimbo also manages, those changes will be overwritten on the next sync. The simplest approach is to treat Pimbo as your single source of truth for product data and make all your edits there.
